Woody Hill Fun Ride — June 28

Registration is open and filling up. The route is a modified version of last year's loop, and we'll have demo bikes on-site from Stedman's Bikes (Wakefield). Volunteers are still needed, especially for arrows/course marking and the water stop — reach out if you can help for a few hours.

An Eagle Scout from the Westerly Land Trust will also be tabling at the event, raising funds to install a bike repair station at Woody Hill. Stop by and support the project if you're able.

Big River Fun Ride — August 16

We're excited to welcome two new event coordinators, Aaron Paolino and David Baxter, who'll be leading the planning for this one. More details to come as the event page goes live.

Membership & Website

May was a great month for growth — 19 net new members, on top of a very active membership drive. Our newly refreshed website is live at RhodeIslandNemba.org, including a new member benefits page highlighting discounts on bike parks, trail tools, coaching, travel, apparel, coffee, and apps like TrailForks.

Echo Lake Trail Project

Construction on Phase 1 of the Echo Lake project is underway, with a target completion of October 2027. Permitting for Phase 2 (the wetland section) is in progress. Thank you to everyone who has volunteered trail days here — we'll keep the sign-ups coming.

Trail Conditions Around the Chapter

  • Lincoln Woods: in great shape

  • Woody Hill: a couple of downed trees are being addressed before the Fun Ride; if you're riding here, watch for trail crew activity

  • Big River: DEM has cleared two previously washed-out bridges; regular weekly rides are helping keep trails visible through some overgrown sections

  • Arcadia: if you've ridden here recently, we'd love a TrailForks report — even a quick note helps the crew prioritize maintenance

Meeting Schedule

No chapter meeting in July — that's normal for us this time of year. We'll be back with a full chapter meeting in late summer, and we'll announce the date and location as soon as it's confirmed.

Want to get more involved? Reach out through RhodeIslandNemba.org — we're always looking for volunteers, ride leaders, and event help.
