Snowshoes and Weather Patterns

Anyone notice something about the days already getting a little longer already? Have you noticed that so far this Winter has been…. well, I’m afraid to say it but you probably know what I’m getting at. You should anyway, assuming you’ve been riding as much as many of us have this season. One thing about growing up in NE is that it has made me downright afraid to say anything about the weather, and don’t worry I won’t. Not now, not ever. Things change quickly and frankly that used to bother me, a lot. You see, I spent 7 years after highschool in FL and NC. There’s not really an offseason when you live that far South. I grew spoiled during my stay, and as luck would have it even my first Winter back in RI wasn’t so bad. That all changed rather drastically though, and I eventually picked up new activities like snowboarding and snowshoeing and I almost went and bought some XC skis this year. I didn’t do it, and I’m glad I didn’t (for now anyway). Maybe by not buying them I afforded us all that which we have been enjoying. I don’t know. That’s probably not the case. What I do think is for certain is that Peter’s running out and buying snowshoes pretty much spared us all thus far. So for that I say thanks Peter !!

Here’s to frozen ground and snow free trails, as long as it lasts anyway…
