Trail Ambassadors Needed - Inquire Within

Hi everyone,

RI NEMBA is looking for a few good riders! We need to fill 20 trail ambassador positions in our newly created program that is set to start in April. The purpose of the ambassador program is to provide a service to our fellow trail users, and raise RI NEMBAs visibility in the local outdoor enthusiast community. With generous assistance from REI we have secured the funding to outfit patrollers with jerseys, basic first aid kits, maps, compasses and a few other items to help us roll out a successful program.

Responsibilities include patrolling weekly at your favorite local trails and providing assistance to other trail users. This can range from giving directions, helping to fix a flat, providing water and supplying folks with basic first aid (think bumps and bruises here - no trail side surgery). Basically the idea it to be an all around asset in the woods. If you’re the kind of rider who always stops to chat with other users, and asks if stopped riders need help, keep reading. I’ve included a brief questionnaire below. If you are interested take the time to answer the questions and shoot me an email with your answers. Please include your T Shirt stye jersey size as well! We’re going to be placing an order soon in order to have them prior to April 1.

Please list your name and contact info (email, ph#):

Please list the parks/management areas you ride most often, and roughly how many hours per week:

Please rate your level of mechanical ability:

1. I can fix a flat, and that’s about it.
2. I can repair chains, tighten cranks, straighten hangers and re-attach brakes, etc.
3. I can build you a bike made from sticks and old Bud Light cans.

Please rate how approachable you are:

1. I’m a pretty easy going rider who likes to help out.
2. I’m always asking if others need assistance, and I know my local trails
like the back of my hand.
3. I’m just here to meet the opposite sex.
4. Go away!

Please let us know if you’re willing to email simple trail patrol reports once a month:

1. Sure, I’d love to!
2. What’s email?

How many hours per week would you be willing to patrol (in the jersey)?

What is your jersey size (T shirt style, relaxed fit)?

When we meet to distribute the supplies everyone will be asked to sign a hard copy of the above. Please be advised that all supplies are property of RI NEMBA. We’d like to be able to redistribute things as needed, so don’t go eating messy hot dogs in your new jersey, OK?

My email address is mtbdee@hotmail.com - fire away!

Thanks,
Brendan
