Not so Mountain Biking

Since snow melts off pavement faster than dirt, and because it’s a nice place to take the kiddies….
The state wide series of bike paths will soon extend from Providence Place to Centerdale. The “Woonasquatucket River Greenway” appears to be making steady progress. I live about 4 blocks away from the project and they’ve marked and leveled the path out to Johnston in preparation for asphalt when the weather breaks. Soon you’ll be able to ride from N. Prov to Bristol with only a short jaunt on city streets through downtown! Just beware of rollerbladers…..

I don’t think rollerblades are legal on the bike paths - at least not on the one in Lincoln - > Manville. There’s a good reason for that, believe me. Those paths get pretty clogged up in the afternoons once May rolls around. Be sure to mount a bell or some such device to warn the strollers. Oh, and don’t be afraid to remind the surly ones that it is a bike path when they act like you just ruined their day by riding (or commuting) on the path. They like the reminder, really they do ;)
