Be Fashionable - Sport your Orange
Spoke with a DEM Officer last week and learned some new things I thought it would be helpful to pass along -
First - Orange is in effect for all DEM lands unil May 26th. Yes, that includes the fun ride on the 22nd. Wear it. Our aforementioned DEM Officer informed us that there will be a September Dove season this year - I’ll post the dates later - and orange will be required. Eventually it will become a requirement from September until May. Personally I’m seeing a need for some helmet manufacturer to get on the ball and supply florescent orange helmets so I don’t have to wear my “helmet net”.
Secondly - It’ll cost you $100 if you’re caught on state lands after dark. The only legal night use is fishing, and stuffing a fishing pole into your camelback won’t be an acceptable excuse, so don’t do it.
