Ride Like a Girl workshop
I went to one of the “Ride Like a Girl” series mountain bike sessions yesterday. I wanted to make sure everyone was aware of them. Info can be found here: http://www.gbnemba.org/rides/ride-like-a-girl.html
It is a series of 5 sessions, with the skill level increasing along the way. Yesterday’s was for advanced beginner to intermediate, but the skill level was a range from beginner to intermediate. There are two more left in the series.
I would highly recommend going. There are some basic body mechanic lessons at the beginning. Having biked for decades now (OK, I’m old), it was still helpful in that I realized I’ve gotten into some bad habits, and understand how to correct them. Then we went on a short ride, with frequent stops and intros to what skills to use on the next session. We finished up with a skill session on log jumping.
There were 3 women pros from Highland Park. How often do we get a chance to tap into this level of expertise, and for free???!!!!! Karen Eagan was the lead teacher, and she is a great teacher. She was very well supported by Alexis Wruble and Kate (? last name).
The next session is close to the one I just went to- a long ride but early on a weekend morning, I blew right through Boston. The last session is at Vietnam!
Hope this is helpful!
