Sept 12th Nemba/AMC trail day project
The big NEMBA/AMC trail day is coming up on Saturday, September 12th! You don’t have to be a member of either to help out.
We do improvements mostly on the Yellow Dot (Vin Gormley) trail. The AMC provides all the tools and materials.
This day goes a long way to keeping up relations with the AMC and has turned out to be a huge success in the past, not to mention the trail improvements we get done!
I ask anyone who is considering coming, PLEASE EMAIL ME, so I can try to figure how many of us we will have.
Details:
* Free camping at the park campgrounds on Sept. 11 & 12
* Pot luck group meal Saturday night
* Muddy areas on the North-South and Vin Gormley trails need hardening by implanting flat stones
* Some erosion control work is possible along with trail brushing, and blowdown removal
* Rain Date Sept 18-20
More definite details to come on meeting place, time, what to bring, etc., but count on the usual; gloves, snacks and drinks, bug spray, boots. We usually work from about 9:00am until 12:00 or 1:00.
Please consider coming, even if it is for a short time. The work we do goes a long way to enhance Mountain Biker/Hiker relations. NEMBA works on several projects with the AMC during the year, and this is a big one.
Those who have come in the past will tell you what an interesting day it is.
