Lincoln Woods Club Day

Bring your family to Lincoln Woods for Fathers Day this year. The New England Mountain Bike Association with the help of Rhode Island Canoe/Kayak Association will be holding the second annual Lincoln Woods Club Day from 10am to 1 pm in Lincoln Woods State Park in Lincoln, RI on Sunday, June 18th 2006.

The public is invited to try various demonstration gear such as bicycles, kayaks, canoes, a rock climbing wall and more. Industry participants will include Casters Bicycle & Fitness, Providence Bicycle, Eastern Mountain Sports, The Kayak Centre and Rhode Island Rock Gym. For the beginners, Lincoln Woods Club Day is a chance to try cycling, kayaking, geocashing or rock climbing for free. For the more experienced, the event provides the opportunity to engage with like-minded people.

Those interested in kayaking will paddle out onto the lake throughout the day and there will be guided mountain bike rides for all skill levels. Rhode Island Rock Gym will make a portable rock wall available for those interested in learning about rock climbing and geocashes will be hidden in areas of the park First-time and experienced sports enthusiasts are encouraged to join one of the many clubs that will be represented, including the New England Mountain Bike Association, the Rhode Island Canoe/Kayak Association and the Appalachian Mountain Club.

The barbeque we had planned will not be possible due to both financial and geographic issues, but we encourage participants to bring their own picnic style lunch. Depending on parking arraignments and the number of people who attend it may cost you five dollars to park. For more information call 401-447-4595.

Hope to see you there,
